“It could have been great to do it in (Game 5) in his (Black Mamba) jerseys, but that (loss) made all of us come out more aggressive, more powerful to both ends of the floor to make sure we all closed it out tonight.

“I know he is searching down on us and is proud of all of us. Vanessa (Bryant) is proud of all of us. The (Lakers) organisation is happy with us. It means a lot to all of us. He was a big brother for all of us. All of us did it for him. ”

Davis also reflected around the grind of his first period with the Lakers and an NBA season last lasted almost a year. He credited veteran team-mates LeBron James and Rajon Rondo intended for challenging and motivating him through the entire Lakers’ title campaign.

“You have got to compete. It really is tough, it’s tough on your entire body. It’s a lot of hard work. The guys forced me, especially ‘Bron (LeBron James) and ‘Do (Rajon Rondo). These are always on me every day regarding being great and being much better. Covering up every mistake is usually my job.
