Hollie Doyle set an additional milestone in what has been a stellar time of year as she broke her own Uk record for the most winners in the calendar year by a female jockey on Kempton.
Doyle, twenty-four, rode State Occasion in the Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Nursery Problème and she had to be at her most powerful aboard Ralph Beckett’s runner, dangling on by a short head inside a photo finish with Tornadic.
She ended last period with 116 winners – splitting Josephine Gordon’s record of 106 – but this was her 117th, with two and a half months from the year still to go.
Having already raced to a hundred winners in early September – 8 weeks quicker than last year – Doyle has also ridden her first Team winner, on Ed Vaughan’s Dame Malliot in the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket, as well as documenting her first Royal Ascot achievement aboard the Alan King-trained Scarlet Dragon in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes.
She seemed to be appointed as retained rider in order to leading owner Imad Al Sagar back in July and competed inside a Group One for the first time when third up to speed Dame Malliot in Germany.

“When you think that we also skipped two months of racing this year (through the Covid-19 shutdown), it is incredible that I have been able to do it therefore quickly.
