Marta Bassino begun the World Glass season in glorious style, storming to victory in the Grand Slalom ahead of Italian team-mate Federica Brignone.
The Sky Sports Scholar held on to her first-run result in beat her compatriot and protecting overall World Cup champion simply by 0. 14 seconds.
Petra Vlhova posted the quickest second-run time with the Slovakian speed third, 1 . 13 secs at the rear of Bassino.
It was Bassino’s second career win after the girl Grand Slalom victory in Killington, Vermont last season.
“We are a perfect couple, inch Bassino said about Brignone. “We have a great team. We worked well very well this summer and I think this is the outcome.
“I am actually proud and really happy about this start of season. It’s really perfect.
“I had so many good emotions in my training before the race, yet it’s never easy to be able to do it again that and find the same sensations.
“But it’s such an aspire to start the season in this way and it can make me so confident. ”
With fog and compacted snow making for poor visibility, especially in the first run, it was both Italians who adapted best.
Three-time overall champion Mikaela Shiffrin had to sit out of the competition. The American, who won on a single Austrian slopes in 2014, modified her back in training two weeks back and opted to rest.
No spectators were permitted as one of the precautionary health and safety measures among the coronavirus pandemic.
