Brandon Hanlan’s first-half goal guaranteed a third win in four Atmosphere Bet League One games meant for Bristol Rovers with a 1-0 success at Shrewsbury.
Hanlan headed home a 15th-minute free-kick from Zain Westbrooke as Rovers struck early.
Shrewsbury responded brightly and Leon Clarke fired a first-time effort only the wrong side of a post right after being set up by Dan Udoh’s clever pass.
The particular experienced Clarke then went also closer when he headed towards a post from close variety.
Rovers almost bending their advantage on the stroke associated with half-time, but Shrewsbury goalkeeper Deyan Iliev was quickly off their line to block David Tutonda’s effort.
Iliev ended up saving from Josh Hare early within the second half and then Shrewsbury had been denied an equaliser when replacement Jan Zamburek’s shot was removed off the line by Max Ehmer.
Rovers almost bending their lead in the closing levels but Iliev saved well through Hanlan.
