Jason Kokrak came by way of a final-round tussle with Xander Schauffele to claim a maiden PGA Tour title at The CJ Glass in Las Vegas.
The planet No 53 carded eight birdies in a bogey-free 64 at Darkness Creek to finish on 20 below and two ahead of his actively playing partner Schauffele, who held a minimum of a share of the lead to get large parts of the final round.
Kokrak’s long-awaited breakthrough arrived his 233rd PGA Tour begin and secures him an ask to next year’s Masters plus PGA Championship, with the win furthermore lifting him inside the world’s best 30 for the first time.
England’s Tyrrell Hatton closed out another impressive 7 days with a final-round 65 to leap into tied-third alongside overnight innovator Russell Henley, with Talor Gooch four strokes back in fifth right after closing his round with a three-putt par at the last.
