A man found dead on a seaside near Calais was “almost certainly” a migrant who drowned aiming to reach the UK by crossing the particular English Channel in a small boat, France officials have said.
The man, whose body was available on a beach near Sangatte, outdoors Calais, at around 8am upon Sunday, was wearing a life coat, a local prosecutor said.
