“It’s another wound for soccer. It doesn’t feel like the right time to become talking about this.

“The leak probably doesn’t suit Stansted United or Liverpool at this moment with time as they’re seen as the big, poor bullies.

The key points since Liverpool and Manchester United get into talks about proposals to launch a brand new FIFA-backed European Premier League

“There is really a position, potentially, for a new Western League and for an amazing Premier Little league, a fantastically competitive EFL plus funded grassroots and non-league soccer. There is enough money.

“If they can pull $6bn with each other for an European league then they may pull together £150-200m to save more of football in this country.

“There is enough wealth in the game to maintain all the key stakeholders.

“It’s almost a tap-in intended for Manchester United, Liverpool and others in order to say: ‘There’s £10m for non-league, there’s a couple of hundred million recovery package for EFL clubs’. We don’t get why we’re not taking care of the wider game, while having these types of discussions over $6bn debt deals with JP Morgan. It is obscene. ”
