Streams ' agrees' deal to coach 76ers
Doc Rivers has reached an on a deal to become the next trainer of the Philadelphia 76ers, ESPN documented on Thursday.
Streams interviewed with 76ers general supervisor Elton Brand on Wednesday mid-day before meeting with the team’s possession later that night.
He reportedly watched Wednesday nights Game 1 of the NBA Finals involving the Miami Heat and Los Angeles La lakers with the Sixers’ brass.
It’s been a rapid turnaround for Streams, who was dismissed as the coach from the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, simply 13 days after the Denver Nuggets overcame a 3-1 series debt to eliminate his team from the NBA playoffs.
Rivers, who transforms 59 on October 13, includes a 943-681 record in 21 months as an NBA coach, with the wins ranking 11th all-time.
He also won the 08 NBA title with the Boston celtics and was voted the NBA’s Coach of the Year in 2k.
The Sixers terminated coach Brett Brown on Aug 23 after seven seasons subsequent their first-round playoff sweep with the Boston Celtics. Brown finished their tenure in Philly with a 221-344 record, including 12-14 in the postseason.
Former Houston Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni, 69, plus former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue were believed to be under consideration within Philadelphia.
