Crystal Palace have signed previous England goalkeeper Jack Butland through Stoke on a three-year deal to have an initial fee of £1m, that could rise significantly with add-ons.
The 27-year-old has became a member of after Palace No 2 goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey suffered a back heel injury on international duty along with Wales and will provide competition regarding Vicente Guaita.
Butland, who won the first of their nine England caps under Structure manager Roy Hodgson, was relegated from the Premier League with Stoke in 2018 and has struggled to get form in the Championship.
He is the fifth new introduction at Selhurst Park since final season, after Eberechi Eze, Michy Batshuayi and Nathan Ferguson many signed during the regular transfer windows, while academy graduate Nathaniel Clyne returned to the club on an immediate deal.
Having guaranteed Butland’s services, Palace chairman Sam Parish said: “We have additional another experienced player of high calibre to our squad in Jack. This marks a really successful window for all of us, with five quality signings, incorporating great depth to Roy’s team. ”
Hodgson added: “I’m very happy that the club has was able to acquire the signature of Jack to participate us and compete for a location amongst our goalkeepers at the golf club. Jack is a player that I individuals for four years at Britain.
