Ten-man Ross County hold on for stage

Ross County saw out the last stages of their match against Hibernian with 10 men to generate a valuable point in a goalless attract at Dingwall.

Connor Randall was sent off within the 79th minute, but Hibs could hardly find a way through despite creating the greater chances.

The Staggies made six changes, including giving a debut to on-loan Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan, while Hibernian rang the changes after their particular Betfred Cup victory at Forfar last Tuesday, swapping out 9 of their starting line-up.

Hibs were inches away from starting the scoring with just a few minutes on the clock when Kyle Magennis hit a post.

Martin Boyle then got within behind the defence – when he regularly would throughout the afternoon — to find himself one-on-one with Doohan, only to drag his shot broad of the mark.

It had been a dominant spell for the website visitors, who then saw Kevin Nisbet denied by a goal-line clearance simply by Alex Iacovitti.

Region began to grow into the game following that as proceedings settled down, yet although there were some nice moving exchanges, clear-cut chances remained few in number.

Michael Gardyne appeared to be the most likely to find the net, 1st shooting wide and then electing in order to tee-up Charlie Lakin when it appeared as if he had time and space to choose his spot.

Along with most of the shots on goal becoming off target, it took till the 67th minute before either goalkeeper was seriously tested when Doohan denied both Christian Doidge plus Nisbet.

Doohan had been forced into action again immediately afterwards from Stevie Mallan’s photo on goal, but going into these stages of the match it was anybody’s game to win.

The Staggies were reduced in order to 10 men in the 79th moment, though, when Randall was demonstrated a red card.

Hibs were attempting to counter-attack plus launched the ball over the top designed for Boyle to run onto, but Randall misjudged the flight of the basketball and instead took the Hibs player down.

Referee Nick Walsh deemed him as the last man, and with Randall getting made no attempt to play the particular ball, he was left without option but to send the right-back off.

Ross Region then naturally went defensive to see out the point, and without a lot of time to make the most of their man benefit they returned down the A9 along with only a point to show for their initiatives.
