Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho says “it is possible” Dele Alli will play in Thursday’s Europa League qualifying play-off against Maccabi Haifa.
Alli, twenty-four, was left out of Spurs’ Leading League draw with Newcastle upon Saturday and Tuesday’s Carabao Glass win over Chelsea.
Yet Mourinho says he has been amazed at Alli’s attitude in response.
“The just thing I can say is your dog is being very professional. He educated very hard, ” Mourinho said.
Along with Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale both unavailable, midfielder Alli, that has been linked with a move far from Spurs, is in line to make their third start of the season.
“It will be perfectly acceptable to have a lack of inspiration, even a lack of professionalism for this workout [on Tuesday] but it had been exactly the opposite, ” Mourinho additional.
“He has my respect as well as the respect of his team-mates therefore it is possible he plays. ”
