Italian rider Luca Wackermann has been released from medical center following his horrific crash in the Giro d’Italia and will return house on Thursday.
The particular crash, which brought down Wackermann and Dutchman Etienne van Empel of the Vini Zabu-KTM team, occurred at the end of Tuesday’s fourth stage each time a barrier was blown over by draft from a low-flying helicopter plus struck the two riders.

He also suffered bruises to his arms and legs along with a suspected back fracture and had been forced to withdraw from the race.
